10 things you didn't know about Bárbara, the new Fredder on board!
Hello, Salut, Ciao, Nĭ hăo, Ola, Hola!
You may be thinking: «what is going on with this girl? Is she trying to make some kind of tongue-twister?»
Nope… I was trying to show up and impress you with a lot of languages. Did I succeed? 😜
Well, as you can imagine, I love learning new languages and I consider myself from “the world”. I have lived in four countries, I have two nationalities, both 'grandpas' (maternal and paternal) were from different parts of the world and my favourite hobby is travelling.
So… I am Bárbara, and I am excited and glad to be part of the Manfred family. As you can see in my super clickbait title, today I am going to tell you some things few people know about me. Here we go!
1. Bárbara, where do you come from?
I come from “the marketing world” but my interest in helping people to change their lives brought me to be interested in recruiting, and which is the best company for recruiting? Yes, Manfred!!!
My goal is to put people first, I want to change your career and find the best candidates for the companies. It is going to be “a hard day’s night” but a lovely trip at Manfred. Would you join us as Manfredite?
2. Can you play an instrument?
I play the piano since I was 7 years old, and now I am learning to play the Ukulele. I only know how to play 'La Bamba'… for now! 💃
3. Favourite singer?
Freddie Mercury. Nothing further, your Honour.
4. And your favourite music group?
Muchachito Bombo Infierno! Some years ago, I won a prize and I could spend the money on a popular travelling and entertainment website. So I decided to spend the whole prize on a Muchachitos’ concert and the trip. It was in Tarragona (I live in Galicia) and guess what?! They were staying at the same hotel I was, and they did the check-in at the same time as me. Exciting night that was!

5. What TV shows do you like?
This Is Us and The Handmaid's Tale. I strongly recommend you to watch both of them. They are awesome!
6. A book you would suggest?
La Sombra del Viento by Carlos Ruiz Zafón. It's a book that will immerse you until you feel like you're a part of it.
7. Which podcasts do you like to listen to?
Nadie sabe nada. I can’t stop laughing! 🤣

8. And... do you practice any sports?
I really enjoy sports and competitions. Once, I won an archery award. I have proofs! 😂
9. Bárbara, where does the passion for helping people come from?
As I mentioned before, I'm passionate about helping people, so I became a social entrepreneur. As a result, I created a social foundation which provides financial support to NGOs and individuals in need of medical treatment or other needs. For example, we fought against breast cancer with AECC, and we also made some healthy cooking workshops for children to help other unprivileged kids.
10. Are you an animal lover?
I am! I totally looooove animals. That’s why this year I also studied a course of animal-assisted therapies for sick people where animals can help improve their day-to-day life. The animals gave them confidence and motivation to complete their therapies. It’s never too late to learn more!
